Day 2 - The Beatitudes: 'Blessed are those who mourn'

Bible Verse: Matthew 5:4

As we continue onto the next teaching from Yahusha in The Beatitudes, today our focus is on the verse:

'Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.'

This tells us that Yahuah's comfort is there for those who grieve. When Yahusha says 'those who mourn', He isn't only referring to those who are sad because they've lost someone. It also includes those who mourn over their personal faults and the wrong things in the world. The promise is that Yahuah will comfort them and turn their sorrow into joy.

Consider a time when one of us felt regret over a mistake we made or was saddened by an unfortunate event. That heavy feeling is the kind of 'mourning' Yahusha speaks about. But even in those hard times, haven't we also experienced the peace and comfort Yahuah gives us to overcome our sorrows?

In times of sadness or regret, let's turn to Yahuah together, openly sharing our feelings and praying for His comfort. He promises us comfort and helps us grow through our difficulties.

  • Can we share a time when we felt Yahuah's comfort during a period of mourning or sadness? How does this verse help us understand Yahuah's promise?

  • How can we, as a family, seek Yahuah's comfort when things go wrong or when we feel sorry about our actions?

  • What are some ways we can help each other and our friends experience Yahuah's comfort in difficult times?
