Day 4 - The Beatitudes: 'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness'

The Beatitudes: 'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness'
The Beatitudes: 'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness'

Bible Verse: Matthew 5:6

Our next verse from Yahusha's Beatitudes is:

'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.'

Have you ever felt really hungry or thirsty during a long journey or after playing, and then you finally get to eat and drink? It's this same strong desire that Yahusha wants us to have for righteousness - doing what is right and good.

Doing what is right - or being 'righteous' - is like a map that guides us in our lives. Imagine going on a family road trip without a map or GPS; it would be quite difficult, right? Just like having a roadmap makes the journey easier and safer, striving for righteousness helps us navigate our lives in the way that pleases Yahuah. And the promise is that those who seek righteousness will be 'satisfied'. Yahuah provides contentment and fulfillment when we seek to do His will.

Let's remember this in our family life. Every decision we make, every game we play, let's ask ourselves: Are we ‘hungry and thirsty’ for what's right? And remember, Yahuah promises that when we do, we will be 'satisfied'.

  • Can you recall a time when you chose to do what was right even though it wasn’t easy? Share your experience.

  • What are some ways we can create a ‘hunger and thirst’ for righteousness in our family?

  • How does the promise of being ‘satisfied’ inspire us to aim for righteousness in our lives?
